The Gorge of Topolia (Topoliano) begins at the village of Topolia and after approximately 1500 meters exits at a valley next to Katsomadatos village.

Although short in length, the gorge is impressive and its landscape wild. There are a lot of beautiful caves and old chapels inside the canyons, such as the cave of Agia Sophia, next to the provincial road, with its homonymous church inside.

A rare spider species (Pholcus creticus) has also been found in the cave. Mythology says that this gorge was inhabited by fairies and the Minoan goddess Vritomartis.
